Pros: Great lens, sharp wide open, great contrast and flare reistance
Cons: Sometimes you'll need to try a few to get a good copy
I've tried a copy this lens before, it didn't focus accurately, so it was pretty much useless. The first copy I tried to buy was the same.
The third copy I tried was the one I bought. I focuses accurately pretty much every time. Focus speed is good, not as fast as the Canon 17-55 F2.8 IS USM, but fast enough. Focus in difficult conditions (backlit, etc) is about average, again not quite as good as the 17-55 but usable, especially with a speedlite for AF.
Wide open this lens is very sharp, far sharper than my Canon 50 F1.4 is wide open. I happily use it wide open at weddings, and F1.8 or F2.0 is sharper still.
I love this lens, and I use it at every wedding I photograph.
