Pros:  Cheap
Cons:  Lousy image quality and build quality

I suffered with this lens as my telephoto zoom for a little while. It is very slow to focus, and the resulting images have lousy contrast and colour.

I would assume that if you are reading this review you are looking for a lens to match your Digital Rebel/xx0D camera. If so, do yourself a favour and buy the 55-250 IS instead.

Pros:  It's affordable
Cons:  Just about everything else.

I hadn't had this lens for very long at all when I had to replace the diaphram. It also was never very sharp, and after a year or two of use, the lens got all wiggly and kind of bobbled up and down when zooming in and out. It just isn't a fast enough lens for anything; but if you're a hobbyist shooting sports outdoors in the summer, you'd probably be fine with this lens.
