Pros: Great image quality for it's age. Nice and light compared to the ID's. Full Frame.
Cons: Getting a bit behind in features.
I love this camera. It has been my main work horse for weddings and portraits for a few years now. I love the images straight out of the camera. Every thing about the look and feel of the shots is just what I want.
Full frame is nice. Canon has some great L glass and full frame allows you to use it as it was intended.
This is NOT a sports camera. The focusing and fire rate will leave you wanting for sports.
Great in low light, but not as dominate as it once was in that category compared to the newer cameras out there (40D and 1D Mark III).
If you can get a lightly used one you won't regret it.

Pros: Great image quality at high ISO, Full Frame, low power consuming.
Cons: price and dust
i love this camera. paired with fast L glass it really shines. its not reporters tool thou. its made for comfort work like weddings, portraiture in studio. its for an art, briefly.
it'd be better sealed from dust for its cost. my previous eos - 10d has cleaner sensor after two years than 5d has after six monthes.
one custom mode is not enough for pro camera.
raw files are large so get 8gb/16gb card and have fun.

Pros: Full frame, huge bright viewfinder, great low-light high-ISO performance.
Cons: Older model, lacks some newer features, no weatherseal, 3fps and only one cross-type AF point.
An excellent camera - full frame for an affordable price. Awesome high-ISO performance, and a lovely big, bright viewfinder that makes composing and shooting an absolute joy.
If you don't need weather-sealing, top-class AF, or new bells and whistles, it's hard to beat this camera. There isn't a lot out there that can match it in terms of IQ, and the full-frame viewfinder and lens selection are huge, huge advantages.
Highly recommended - I love the 5D.

Pros: full frame, very good in low light and reliable
Cons: FPS
If you don't work outside in foul weather, need full frame and don't shoot sports then this camera is great. Its perfect for the type of photography I do. It has VERY good low light performance and is not as heavy as the 1D series. If you shoot portraits, advertising, annual reports, this camera is a good match for your shooting needs.

Pros: Full frame, high ISO, superb output files
Cons: Auto focus
Having used the 5D for over a year I've just got a second one - they really are that good.
Image quality is superb and the older technology of the 5D still gives the Canon flagship 1DS MKIII a run for its money.
High ISO is superb when exposure is spot on and for my wedding work this is a must when shooting dimly lit churches.
Full frame sensor lets my lenses behave as they should.
The only downside is that the body has no weather sealing and it only has average autofocus with only the centre focus point being of the cross hair variety.
Still one of the best out there and a bargain at current prices

Pros: Incredibly sharp images, great at high ISO
Cons: Older menu system, slower operation, expensive
The 5D is a great camera, the choice of many wedding professionals. It takes incredibly sharp images, it's reliable, and it's great at high ISO.
There are no real downsides. It's got the older menu system, and it's only 3fps or so. Neither of those matter much. It's not a cheap camera though.
If you want full frame and great image quality, get the 5D.
