Pros:  Full frame
Cons:  artifacts in clouds/shadows

This camera is in most respects the same as the mk1 version, which is an exceptional camera in every regard except for dust on the sensor. However the mk2 with its sensor cleaning technology seems to suffer from that almost as badly as the mk1. No one has come up with a good solution yet it seems.

The are many small changes like 3 custom settings etc but it's the big changes that are worthy of comment

If you forget video for a moment then Obviously the biggest difference to the mk1 is the 21MP sensor and digic 4

IMO it needs digic 4 to get the same IQ as the mk1 from the tiny pixels on this sensor. I see no improvement in practice at normal ISO settings (100-400) over the mk1. Yes there are more pixels but they are not better pixels!

In fact I think there is MORE noise and other artifacts than the mk1 had. I have had real problems with banding and noise in clouds especially when converted to B+W. This may be fixed by the recent firmware updates but the technical details of the latest firmware only mention the noise etc when using sRAW - which I never use. We'll see, but as I only shoot full RAW I will be very disappointed ( and angry) if this problem persists.

Video: I don't use it but I'm sure it is a must have for many (esp Wedding photogs)
